Get Your Ghoul On

It’s that time of year again—time to get your ghoul on! For the past two years I’ve been teaching the Thriller dance to my students. Quite the departure from what I normally teach: a fun and sexy style of what we call “Pussycat Doll” style of dance, the Thriller has become a fun tradition that we all look forward to each October. Teaching the Thriller dance for the first time started as a novel idea for the Halloween season, but it quickly became apparent that it resonated with my students and something many said, they always wanted to learn. Students got really excited about the possibility to learn the actual Thriller dance and I got really excited to teach it. Maybe the real reason I started teaching the Thriller was because I wanted to learn it too, or really was it so that I could conquer the fear that I developed from watching the video when I was five? Either way I look at it, both totally valid reasons.
